How comunicate in Baltic Countries

Lithuania Most of the country's population is fluent in English, Russian. Part of the population speaks Polish (the Polish community in Vilnius). Information in tourist places (museums, cafes, restaurants) is duplicated in Russian and English. In Lithuania, Russian is spoken by the middle and older generation. English will come to the rescue when dealing with young people.

Latvia The state language is Latvian, but most of the population speaks Russian fluently and uses this language in their daily life. In Riga, Daugavpils, Liepaja, Jurmala, the Russian language is very common. Young Latvians speak English well.

Estonia Most of the country's population communicate with each other in Russian. Estonian youth may not know Russian, in such cases English will always come to the rescue.

Souvenirs from Lithuania

Amber and amber products. Linen, knitwear, ceramics. Shakotis, local cheeses: djugas (tastier than parmesan), smoked fish, liqueurs, Lithuanian beer.

Souvenirs from Latvia

Amber, clothing, cosmetics and perfumery (the most famous Latvian brand Dzintars, unfortunately, went bankrupt in 2019), Riga balsam, smoked fish, local cheeses, chocolates and Laima sweets.

Souvenirs from Estonia

Vana Tallinn liqueur, amber products, marzipans and local chocolate (Kalev), Huppa children's clothing, knitted wool accessories (mittens, hats, socks).
